I’d choose not include the Catholic Church “Holy See” on a list of “legitimate countries..”Its very status as an observer-state, though advocating for no regions or communities within its borders, unlike its fellow Palestine, subverts the superordinate representative-democracy purposes of any viable economy. This church is a global corporation exempt from tax and neither answerable to nor legitimated by any sovereign population. Its claims to represent all humans are flatly contradicted by its history of conquest oppression and the ongoing relegation of female human beings to lives of subordination by men and most obscenely blind insistence on excessive births, which are imposing a stress on the the eutrophying, putrefying, increasingly toxified and polluted global environment in practical day-to-day survival and human health terms to as significant a degree as dangerous as the continuing and even increasing catastrophic pumping of 50 trillion tonnes and more of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and the raft of “greenhouse gases” generated in industrial chemical manufacturing into the earth’s atmosphere.
